I USED TO HAVE DEPRESSION PROBLEM

Felix Omokhodion is a passionate actor who is popularly known for his different roles in TV shows. A graduate of computer science and the performing arts, only child of his mother and growing up as an introvert he started role-plays with imaginary actors and everything he saw in his way became part of the scene, more like a prop. I think I could say that’s where my acting began.

How did you get into acting/Entertainment
I started off as a model until one fateful day when I saw an audition notice on TV for the need of actors by alpha vision (CMA) owned by Tajudeen Adepetu. I immediately knew it was my chance so I went for it and got the lead role.
How has acting/entertainment affected you as a person
I would say positively. I have a great passion for it because I had to learn the ethics of the business by getting a diploma from it. I would say with my years of experience and hunger for artistic perfection, I am good to go.
How successful can you say you have been
It depends on what the term success means to you. For me it’s doing what you love most, getting paid and appreciated for it. With these i can boldly say I am successful.

What makes you unique or different from other of your colleagues
I think what makes me truly unique is that I don’t like to play two roles the same way even if they are identical. I believe strongly in character acting and not glamour acting. I’m also my biggest critic.

What's that one thing you don't want to remember
I used to have a depression problem, that people don’t know about but I thank God I’m above that now...hate to remember that part of my life

Have you ever thought of quitting
A lot of times, the industry could be challenging because of funds and the situation of the economy but when you have passion for something there is no going back.
As an upcoming, who were you looking up to as your role mode
I have so many role models, from the early years of Hollywood :the late Marlon Brando, Charley Chaplin, John dean . To Nollywood: the great RMD, Ramsey Noah etc.
We recently heard of another fraction in the industry, they say they are the New Nollywood, why this disunity among the AGM and do you also think that Nollywood need fresh ideas
I think Nollywood needs a better structure and funding. Also all the sections need to reunite. I look forward to a time where producers would come together to do a movie.

Where is Nollywood right now in comparison with other movie industries like Bollywood, Hollywood, and even the GhanyWood etc.

I think Nollywood is on its own track moving steady although we need to increase our pace with creating better structures that protect the actors interest and also secure production content.
What has the government done to assist Nollywood since its a medium to promote our cultural heritage
Well they have been trying, but more needs to be done. They should realize Nollywood is a vast ocean of opportunities ready to shit gold if properly backed up. It is also a beautiful way of cleaning the country's image.

 Any local or international recognition
Have gotten nominations from NMAA,TSNA etc. But I am sure the best is on its way.

As an African, what is the most unique thing about your culture and tradition
Most unique thing about my culture is how deep and moral it can be. Hidden behind the traditional stuffs are teachings of living a principled life. I also think we need to do more epic movies because we are blessed with a beautiful history.

We believe the African culture and tradition has lost its value in families and our society as a result of parents adopting western culture, how can we change this
Africa's culture is lost in us because we threw it away and embraced the western culture which is sad. We termed everything  cultural as fetish and even forgot what God said in the bible about not forgetting the Ancient Landmarks.
What part are you going to play
Personally, I am proudly African, A true Nigerian, A lover of my culture and I would promote it everywhere I go.

What do you want to say to your fans
I love my fans endlessly, they are part of the reasons I still do this and my yearning to become a better               version of myself in my arts. They are my world! And my Love!
