I'M STILL AT THE FOUNDATION STAGE-Guen Adodo

-Entertainment has not changed me as a person

Guen Adodo

Can you tell us about yourself?
Guen Adodo is a resourceful, disciplined and talented young lady who hails from Edo state, Nigeria.

She is a graduate of Ambrose Alli University, where she obtained her B.Agr(animal science).

A lover of the arts. She can easily be described as "the girl next door";fun, free, hospitable and intelligent.
How did you get into acting/Entertainment?
A producer/friend told me he was casting for a TV series since I've always had interest for acting, I attended the audition and you know the rest. lol. I played lead in Crack in the wall(10 steps) TV series, Suitcase, Friendly foe, Sea change and special appearance on Fifty, Everyday people, Unayi Health Centre, Emerald, the Counselor, GIDI up, Temptations and others I can't remember now.

How has acting/entertainment affected you as a person ?
Honestly, it hasn't quite changed me. It's always back to default setting when I'm off camera...lol. I still move around when I feel like and do whatever I want. When people stare at me, I'd just smile back at them.

How successful can you say you have been?
Compared to where I want to be, I'd say I'm still at the foundation stage which if properly structured, accomplishing success will be a walkthrough for me.

What makes you unique or different from other of your colleagues?

What distinguishes me from my colleagues would be my team spirit and workmanship. I try to fill a vacuum whenever I have the opportunity to, while some create the problems. *laughs

What's that one thing you don't want to remember?
I never want to be perceived as not disciplined.

Have you ever thought of quitting?
No

As an upcoming, who were you looking up to as your role model?
Julia Roberts, Genevieve Nnaji

We recently heard of another fraction in the industry, they say they are the New Nollywood, why this disunity among the AGM and do you also think that Nollywood need fresh ideas?

Nollywood is Nollywood. Segregating is pointless. Some new are not as good as some oldies and vice versa. Its all about a good story reaching a skillful crew with topnotch equipments and serious minded/talented cast.

Where is Nollywood right now in comparison with other movie industries like Bollywood, Hollywood, and even the GhanyWood etc.?

Nollywood is doing pretty well in terms of quality and quantity of movies being produced compared to Ghallywood and others. Film makers and acts have embraced the need to study more so it's getting better.

Any local or international recognition?
None yet

Any awards in your cabinet
The awards are on its way **winks

Who discovered you?
I don't know where he is now, but I'd like to appreciate 'Freshly' Enubuje, producer of 'SEA CHANGE' TV series for giving me the opportunity despite my zero experience in acting. I'd say he discovered me.

As an African, what is the most unique thing about your culture and tradition?

The unique thing for me besides the food, mode of dressing etc. would be the way our newborn babies are being nurtured,(the Omuguo thing)...lol, I find it really fascinating and it varies with tribe.

We believe the African culture and tradition has lost its value in families and our society as a result of parents adopting western culture, how can we change this?

We can change this by teaching our children while they are very young, find ways to make them look interesting. For kids, the language, food, dressing etc can come in animated form, then regular visits to the village home for festivals and the likes.

What part are you going to play?
I'm looking on organizing fun trips for children and adults that are interested as well to visit different villages/towns/festivals in Nigeria and other African countries very soon.

Airtel Facebook flex commercial, what's the feedback like?
The feedback from people have been mind blowing since the Airtel Facebook flex commercial. It can only get better as some other projects I have done are going to be showing on TV channels both locally and internationally.

What do you want to say to your fans?
My fans, una know say una too much! My support system extraordinaire. I'm so thankful to everyone of you for every like, follow, comment on my pages/handles on social media. Instagram@guenadodo,twitter@guen_adodo.
