I am Alechenu Ichado Abel, I am an Actor, an Assistant Director and a Creative, I am Idoma from Benue State.

How has life treated you as an actor?
First i must say I am a product of God's pure grace, life as an actor has been a smooth and sweet ride so far, looking back to my expectations when i was much younger and had dreams for the big screen, it has been from one height to the next with amazing memories.

How did it begin and who mentored you because most celebrity hardly neglect that aspect of their life?
It all began in Jos, my place of birth, apart from taking part in church dramas as a kid and watching loads of NIGERIAN films, an older brother of mine who did music at the time took me with him to a studio in Jos (late Big Danny's) place, at the time I just watched SITANDA the day before. A film by Izu Ojukwu for Amstel Malta Box Office, and to my amazement I saw one of the actors AKUME AKUME in the film around the studio, I rushed up to him and spoke how much I loved what I saw and that was it, I attended my first audition, got  role in the movie HAMZA by Andy Nwakalor, then to the next big audition for CINDY'S NOTE,  At this point I was out of secondary school and seeking admission into the university. I heard of a two weeks free training by the then MManex Productions and I took acting and cinematography classes, on completion of the training, because of how well I did with the camera and due to not getting acting gigs as i wanted, I ventured into covering events and filming short films with friends, during that same period, I was opportune to attend the ZUMA film festival in Abuja. that was in 2008, at the Festival I met some of the big names I loved so much, the Late Justice Esiri, Daddy and Mummy Jacobs, Sam Dede, and many others. Then God sent a man Uncle Mahmood Ali-Balogun, after we met and exchanged contacts, I kept in touch and five years later at another film festival, we met and at that time I was already in my third year in the university of Jos, studying Theater and Film Arts, on hearing that, he was so happy and encouraged me to register and attend the Acting class of the Africa International Film Festival in Calabar, that was in 2013, Segun Arinze took the class, that experience changed my life, It was at Afriff I met Ejiro Onobrakpor who brought me to Lagos and the rest is my journey so far.

What are your fondest memory so far in the industry and outside the industry?
My fondest memory so far was on a set, when the director had not seen me act and was not sure I could, until the scene ended and he and the crew were clapping before he said cut, I was so emotional to the point of tears.
And outside the industry, it was when a fan asked her staff to lock the shop and not allow me out till I told them what would happen next on a project i was on at the time, I ended up talking my way through and getting a free copy of the product they sold.

Tell us about your growing up?
My growing up was amazing, even after loosing my dad before my 12th birthday, I tell people I was pampered as the youngest child, even when things were terribly tough in the family I was always treated specially, I had all I needed, my older once always had my back, I had my primary, secondary and University education in Jos, after which i proceeded to serve in Asaba, after school I remember spending the rest of the day in my mothers canteen in my primary and secondary school days, she ran one of the shops in the canteens in NIPSS Kuru, where we lived at the time, I went to the market to shop for the canteen for many years, the canteen ran for about 22 or more years till she had to 'retire' from that, I always tell people I am a market boy and like to cook.

How do you balance your life as an actor?
God gives gifts and as such I do my best to be me at all times," I am a shy person so I am most times seen with my sun shades" especially when in busy places, being an actor does not stop or change the fact that I am first Abel, a normal human being created by God.

What have you learned about yourself ever since you became an actor?
I have learnt to be real, as real as i can be.
