Genevieve Nnaji and Mercy Johnson mentored me - Princess Acho

Good day. My name is Princess Acho. I’m from Imo state, Akabo in Ikeduru LG.

How long have you been in the industry and what's the experience like?

I have been in the entertainment industry for five years. The experience has been wonderful. I like the fact that on set I get to play different characters, see and feel their pain, joy and sadness. It also helps build my confidence.

 What was your greatest challenge?

My first production was Weeping flower by Naidoh production where I played the role of a house girl (Bola). Beautiful cast, the director Emma Anyaka was very easy to work with and never made me feel out of place.

What was your greatest challenge?

Princess Acho

The greatest challenge I had was playing the role of a stripper in Highway girls of Eko by Linda Ikeji Production.

Who mentored you?

Genevieve Nnaji and Mercy Johnson. Beautiful actresses with the ability to interpret roles perfectly. Also classy, good poise and character.

Genevieve Nnaji

Tell us about your culture and tradition and what makes it different from other culture?

Igbo culture

Well, the Igbo culture is as beautiful and diverse as every other ethnic group. The difference is the dressing, language and food. But we are all similar in our own way. Different languages, same people with heart and soul and that’s what makes us one Nigeria.

What's your favorite local food and how is it prepared?

Oha Soup

My favorite local food, I’m a foodie but I’ll pick one. Oha soup. My mum is from Anambra state and this is her local delicacy which I love. Basically boil your meat/chicken with stock fish, dried fish or any fish of your choice, add your crayfish and pepper. Cook for about 20-25 mins then add your Utazi leaves (don’t know the English name lol) then add your Oha leaves. Cook for about 10 -15 mins and eat with any swallow of your choice.

How can we sustain the African culture?

Sustaining the African culture?? In my opinion, I’ll say people should always travel to their hometowns, learn their languages and pass the knowledge to their children to keep the culture alive. No matter what, we are Africans and we are BLACK AND PROUD!

What do you do for fun?

Fun activities for me... I like to read a little.. I’m a google girl and I believe no knowledge is wasted. I also love playing volleyball, I listen to a lot of music (keeps me sane).. I love traveling and meeting new people.

Is there anything you are doing for the less privilege?

Well I personally try to help people around me in the little way I can. Charity begins at home. I assist people on and offline. Working on a project for now (a foundation) because I love to give back to the community!

As an actor and entertainment what's your greatest wish?

My greatest wish as an actor is to be on Hollywood screens. Also I’ll love to do Broadway someday. I’ll love to experience it.

How do you want to appreciate your fans who have been with you for all this years?

For now, I’ll say thank you to all my fans for their love and support because without them all I have would be just dreams. And I promise to always give my best in everything I do.
